Hey, my name is Elly.

I’m a queer and trans astrologer with a Capricorn stellium and a Libra rising. My approach to astrology is a blend of Hellenistic and modern traditions. I have a certificate in Hellenistic astrology from completing Chris Brennan’s comprehensive Hellenistic Astrology Course. I have also taken classes, workshops, and/or tutoring sessions with Kelly Surtees, Michael J Morris, and Kirah Tabourn, in addition to years of self study. I recently completed my electional astrology studies with Kira Ryberg. I use whole sign houses, traditional planetary rulers, and the essential dignities scheme from the Hellenistic tradition. I also use the outer planets and a more psychological, archetypal approach to astrology reflective of modern astrological traditions. I have been offering readings since February 2022.

My style is practical and grounded in the ways that power and oppression impact how we are able to live out our birth charts. My goal is to meet you where you're at and collaboratively make sense of your life through the language of astrology.

Why Star Gays?

Rummaging through the archives of queer art, thought, and activism has been a lifelong journey. Creating a queer lineage through the archives has been incredibly important to developing my sense of self. Astrology has also been a critical tool for understanding my life and my place in the world. Studying the cycles of time has allowed me to connect to the past and be more present in my own experience. Both astrology and queer archival art and activism have been ways that I have located myself and rooted into who I am and where I come from. Star Gays: The Queer Astrology Archives Podcast is my attempt to bring these passions together and share what I have learned with you all.
