What is the Living Room Archive?

  • A membership space for Star Gays: The Queer Astrology Archives Project
  • A private, online forum to gather and build community with other astro-nerds and art lovers
  • Monthly live calls where we watch/read/look at queer art together and talk about the astrology of it
  • A hub to learn astrology while building deeper, more alive relationships with queer ancestors and each other
  • A place to gather that isn't full of AI-slop, anti-queer rhetoric/censorship, or run by an addictive algorithm

Why Is The Living Room Archive Necessary?

In the age of social media en-shittification, AI-slop, and active policing and censorship of queer people and history, we need spaces where we can actually connect. We need relationships that feel real and alive, relationships that create space for the imaginal, for knowing and understanding that other worlds are possible.

Star Gays has always been a devotional practice of building deeper, more alive relationships with my queer ancestors. To quote from the wonderful José Esteban Muñoz in Cruising Utopia, the process of engaging with queer ancestors, allows for "a critical deployment of the past for the purpose of engaging the present and imagining the future." Muñoz offers that we can "deploy the knowledge gleaned from queer ephemeral archives for the purposes of reanimating and reviving [a] utopian impulse."

The Living Room Archive is an invitation to join me in this practice, to spend time together in the queer ephemeral archives so that we might co-create something new, something real, something alive.

Members of the Living Room Archive Have Access to:

  • Patron-only posts and behind the scenes magic of Star Gays
  • A private, online forum to discuss queer art, queer cultural/political history, and astrology
  • Live monthly calls to discuss queer art/literature and astrology (plus access to the recordings if you can't make it live)
  • Discounts on readings, workshops, and courses with Elly

Why is called "The Living Room Archive"?

The living room is the gathering space of the home. It is the place where we socialize and relax. The place where we get to sit on comfortable furniture, watch movies, read books, play games, have conversations. It is the place in the home designed to build and sustain relationships centered around play, relaxation, and the enjoyment of art.

Working with queer ancestors and astrology has always been about creating deeper, more alive relationships. The core of my astrological practice is relational. Our charts speak not only to our personalities and proclivities but to the insertion of our lives into a greater cosmic web. Our charts connect us to the aliveness of the world, to the aliveness of the cosmos, and to the aliveness of each other. Our charts weave interconnected networks with each other and show how deeply entangled we are. Our astrology shows us how we are always, already in relationship.

The Living Room Archive is designed with relationship in mind. Community is at the heart of the project and so the goal for the membership is to feel like a community. The vibe is hanging with your friends in the living room, watching movies, reading books together. The vibe is conversations that are deep and meaningful yes, but not hierarchical. The vibe is in-depth astrological learning, but this isn't the academy, it's quite literally my living room - come hang with me.

I invite you to join me in building deeper, more alive relationships with queer ancestors and with each other.
